This Cookie Policy explains how LEGENDÀSRISCAS LDA., trading under the Nova Atlantic brand ("Nova Atlantic", "we", "us" or "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on www.novatlantic.pt (the "Website"). It should be read together with the Nova Atlantic Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small text file or identifier stored on your browser or device when you visit a website. Cookies can allow a website to operate securely, remember choices between pages or visits, and measure how the website is used. Similar technologies include browser local storage, pixels, tags and scripts; references to "cookies" in this Policy include those technologies where they perform a similar function.
First-party cookies are set by the Website. Third-party cookies are set by another organisation whose service is used or embedded. The third party processes data under its own privacy information.
Under Article 5 of Lei n.º 41/2004 of 18 August, information may be stored on or accessed from your device only with prior consent, except where a technology is strictly necessary to transmit a communication or provide a service you expressly requested.
When you first visit, the cookie banner allows you to "Accept all", "Reject non-essential" or "Manage preferences". The options must be equally easy to use. Analytics and any other non-essential technologies remain disabled until you make an affirmative choice. Continuing to browse, scrolling or closing the banner is not consent.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Withdrawal applies for the future and does not affect processing carried out lawfully before withdrawal.
Strictly necessary cookies — required for Website security, page delivery, form functionality and recording your cookie choice. They cannot be switched off through the consent panel because the requested service would not function correctly. They do not require consent.
Analytics cookies — help us understand, in aggregate, how visitors reach and use the Website, which pages are useful and where the experience can be improved. They are activated only after Analytics consent.
Preference and marketing cookies — the approved launch configuration does not use separate preference cookies or advertising/remarketing cookies. If these technologies are added later, this Policy and the consent panel must be updated before activation and a new consent must be obtained where required.
The Website is approved to use only the following cookies at launch. The technical implementation must match this schedule:
na_cookie_consent (Nova Atlantic) — stores accept/reject choice, permitted categories and policy version so the banner does not ask on every page. Duration: 6 months. Category: strictly necessary. Consent required: no.
_ga (Google Analytics 4) — distinguishes browsers for aggregated audience measurement and Website improvement. Duration: up to 2 years. Category: analytics. Consent required: yes.
_ga_* (Google Analytics 4) — maintains the state of the current analytics session for the configured GA4 property. Duration: up to 2 years. Category: analytics. Consent required: yes.
Google Analytics must be configured so that its scripts do not load before Analytics consent. Advertising features and ad personalisation must remain disabled unless this Policy, the consent panel and the cookie schedule are first updated.
Location maps must be implemented either as a static image with an external link or as click-to-load content blocked until the relevant consent is given. A normal external link to Google Maps or LinkedIn does not place their cookies through the Website; those services may process data after you choose to open them and are governed by their own policies.
Embedded video, live chat, WhatsApp widgets, reCAPTCHA, CRM tracking, advertising pixels or social-media widgets must not be added silently. If a new tool stores or accesses information on a device, it must be assessed, classified, added to this Policy and blocked until consent where it is not strictly necessary.
We record the date and time of the choice, the categories accepted or refused, and the banner and Policy version. The preference cookie is renewed only in accordance with the consent configuration. We may ask again sooner where the purposes or technologies change materially or a new consent is legally required.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser's privacy or security settings. Browser controls vary, so consult your browser's help pages. Deleting the cookie that stores your preference will cause the banner to appear again. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent forms or other requested features from working correctly.
Where cookie use involves personal data, the Nova Atlantic Privacy Policy applies. Google or another approved technology provider may process data outside the European Economic Area. Any such transfer must use a lawful mechanism under Chapter V GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with supplementary measures where appropriate.
Where cookies involve personal-data processing, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. To exercise a right or ask a question, email office@novatlantic.pt. You may also lodge a complaint with the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados at www.cnpd.pt.
We will review this Policy whenever cookies, analytics, maps, forms, hosting, pixels, embedded media or other relevant technologies change. The current version will show its last-updated date. A new purpose or non-essential provider will not be activated until the required information and consent controls are in place.
Questions about cookies or consent choices may be sent to office@novatlantic.pt.
